Coming together for a common good

Although the founders of Sheltered By Love come from diverse backgrounds, they have one thing in common – an unwavering desire to do good in the world and help our fellow neighbor. It is our common belief that each of us can leave our world in a better way than we found it. Creating this foundation is just one way we are helping to do that.

GEORGE JENSEN

George Jensen is a true patriot and friend to all. Born and raised in Washington, D. C., George joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1970, eventually earning the rank of Sergeant. After his honorable discharge, he relocated with his wife and two young children to the Dallas, Texas area, where he has lived since 1973.

During that time, George launched a small order-fulfillment business, which had the radical idea of making it easier for working women to buy postage stamps. This idea immediately took off and today, thanks to George, millions of people buy stamps at grocery stores, ATMs and convenience stores. 40 years later, that small order-fulfillment company has grown into a national 3PL warehouse company, which stores and ships hundreds of thousands of products all over the world.

Despite all this success, George has never lost touch with his true love – protecting our planet’s most valuable resources of water and wildlife. In 1980, George began working with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department to help a small conservation effort for our nation’s wetlands. As of 2022, George has helped raise more than half a billion dollars for this noble cause.

Now, as a co-founder and director of Sheltered By Love Foundation, George is looking to directly help communities impacted by homelessness and joblessness by bringing well-paying jobs and quality, affordable homes to the deserving people in his own surrounding neighborhoods.

DANA JENSEN

Dana was born in Arlington, Texas and attended the University of Southern California, in Los Angeles, California, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theater. After living on the West Coast for a number of years, Dana decided to pursue her love of travel and the arts by moving to New Orleans, Louisiana. After successfully running a boutique shop for several years, she answered the call to move to the Big Apple – New York City.

Since 2016, Dana has been a fixture in her NY neighborhood community. During the pandemic, Dana created “street-survival” packs, with a variety of products aimed at helping homeless women. She designed, filled and distributed these packs free of charge to women in her community.

As a founding member of Sheltered By Love Foundation, Dana is eager to pursue a life-long goal of helping those around her achieve their best success.

BRAD THOMPSON

“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.” It’s not just a quote by the legendary Walt Disney, but the manner and way of life that Brad strives to conduct his business and live his life. Raised in Arlington, Texas, Brad is a life-long entrepreneur, and has always sought unique opportunities and created novel methods in order to achieve the impossible. Starting with his first lawn-mowing business at age 13, where he strapped a mower to the back of his go-cart, in order to reduce the amount of time getting to each house. Continuing through college, where Brad earned his BA from Stephen F. Austin State University and on through a successful career in advertising and marketing.

“Do your best” is another life lesson Brad learned during his time earning the prestigious Eagle Scout award, and later, during his tenure as a scout leader for his three sons. For 25 years, Brad participated in countless conservation programs, community & nature clean-up events, and tree plantings. In addition to being an Eagle Scout, Brad was honored to become a James E. West Fellow in 2015. Since his very first cub scout meeting at age 8, Brad has dedicated his time and energy to the core principles he learned – such as integrity, honor, compassion and stewardship.

Now, as a husband, father of four, and dedicated follower of Jesus Christ, Brad seeks ways to apply the lessons he has learned, both in business and in his personal life. As a founding member and director of Sheltered By Love Foundation, he has the chance to achieve that goal. But perhaps even greater is the ability to exponentially expand upon the most important lesson he was ever taught - leave this world in a better way than he found it.
